Hope that helps. You should be able to find a You Tube video and/or a User Manual online that you can download.

When you get on the rally find someone with a Garmin to show you how to operate it to guide you round the course. Martin Green is better at this than me as I don’t use mine very often and usually forget what to do until I have practised a couple of times.

When you have the files in Garmin connect open each gpx file (called “courses” in Garmin terminology. You will find the list of courses hidden in the “More” menu (three dots) and then in “Training and Planning” then “Courses”. Open each in turn (each will show a small scale map) and click the Send to Garmin icon which is a small blue arrow pointinf at a watch. Then you need to connect your Garmin to the PC by bluetooth or cable. It will show connected in the home menu of the Connect app. Then you just need to activate the “Synch”. On my iPad it takes a while and looks like nothing is happening but eventually the “courses” will appear on the Garmin.

You need the “Garmin Connect” application on your laptop. Drag and drop each gpx file onto the Garmin Connect app. Or find some way of getting the files to the app. I am not sure with a PC because I use a Mac or iPad but you should find help on You Tube.

Our Cannodale RT2 came with the same chain ring sizes you have Joanne and we found the low gears too high. I fitted a 26 tooth inner ring and this worked OK with the original FSA rings but when they wore out we had many major tangles with the replacement Stronglight and later Shimano rings. Hi Eli No the colour coding has no relation to the type of route, it just differentiates them from one another Neil

This month's ride will take place on Saturday 16th August, starting at 10:30 sharp opposite Lyall's Cafe in the Market Place, Eynsham (5 miles west of Oxford). Lunch will be at The White Horse, a community-owned pub in the lovely village of Stonesfield (https://www.thewhitehorsestonesfield.com). The more ...

I am working on these and will send them to Neil when ready. I am trying to ensure that they visit all the things to see and little towns without making them too long. Because of a shortage of roads I am using some wider cycle paths after consulting my captain!

I'll print a set Pat and Mike

We too would like routes that stick to normal roads, but we're already en route to the rally so can't print up anything. Might someone be able to do that for us so we can collect them when we arrive? Pat and Mike Strauss

I have sent the short and medium route sheets to Neil to post for anyone who wants them. Please note that they are as accurate as I could do in the time available. As older tandem riders only used to road riding, we are not too keen on narrow paths and lots of unmade tracks through the woods, so I s more ...
